At that time, he was in the twilight of his tertiary studies, and has since graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Studies degree, majoring in accounting and finance.
Prior to joining our team, Robin gained a broad understanding of business cost structures and profitability while working at a tax advisory practice to complement his studies. Ed has been working in investment markets since 1999, beginning his investment career as a small and microcap equity analyst on the institutional investment side. He then moved into fund research, primarily from a quantitative perspective, covering all asset classes and providing him with unique input into the fund research process.

Ed was involved in each stage of the investment process, from tailoring strategic asset allocation advice to global fund research, portfolio management and client relationships. He helped the firm develop a reputation for quality advice and investment management.
Upon returning to Sydney in 2012, Ed joined Family Office Research and Management (FORM), a firm with a client base and similar values to those at Jewson Associates. Investment Advisor / PartnerContact Scott
One of our founding partners, Scott is widely respected for his expertise and commitment to delivering positive outcomes for clients. For example, in the Barron’s survey of Australia’s top financial advisors, he ranked No. 1 when the poll began in 2017, and No. 2 in 2021.
Scott attributes such recognition to our collegiate approach, through which his personalised client strategies are supported by the skills of the entire advisory team and the robust investment process implemented by our Chief Investment Office.
The strategies he applies are based on his own ‘client value proposition’, the foundation of which is a comprehensive discovery process. This means not only identifying the individual circumstances of his clients, but importantly understanding their aspirations.
The discovery phase is critical to what Scott sees as a whole-of-life approach to building relationships with his clients. It requires working at a personal, not product, level and imposes considerable duty of care. He believes that is reflected in the level of service provided, which in turn delivers long-term client satisfaction.
Scott says his insights have deepened further since we joined forces with Focus Financial Partners, which has provided us with access to the significant knowledge, information and research available through the group’s international network.
These links, combined with the considerable expertise available through our collaborative environment, enable Scott to enhance the level of service he provides to his clients, helping them meet their goal of financial security for current and future generations.

Amanda is a founding partner of our firm and lead investment advisor in our not-for-profit investment management team. With more than thirty-five years’ experience in the financial services industry, she has significant expertise as an equity research analyst and investment advisor.
After university, Amanda joined the equity research department of a stockbroking company. The attraction of undertaking financial modelling and analysis and developing strategies for institutional investors prompted her to pursue a career as an equity research analyst.
Amanda then transitioned to corporate finance with KPMG in their valuations group, helping clients formulate business objectives and strategies; however, her abiding interest in investments led her to move back into equity research for private investors, and later form an even closer relationship as their investment advisor.
Those earlier roles in equity research and valuations required a flexible approach to tailoring services for individual clients. These experiences formed the foundation of Amanda’s approach to wealth management: undertaking specific analysis of each client’s objectives and developing aligned investment strategies.
Testament to the respect Amanda has gained is her membership of the University of Melbourne Investment Committee for fifteen years, until her retirement from the role in 2024. Amanda is also regularly rated highly by her peers in the Barron’s annual survey of Australia’s top financial advisors, ranking those whose ‘skills, passion and commitment consistently deliver positive outcomes for their clients’.

Nick began his career at Arthur Andersen (now EY) in their tax division, focusing on corporate and superannuation taxation and structured finance transactions. This experience led him to investment banking and roles at UBS Corporate Finance and Merrill Lynch, gaining exposure to private and public transactions in both the debt and equity capital markets.
Nick then transitioned to funds management, initially managing private portfolios of listed Australian equities for high net worth individuals. He subsequently co-founded Patriot Asset Management and focused on managing listed small cap equities within a larger pooled fund structure. After five years, and following the sale of Patriot, he moved to Karara Capital and continued managing the same fund for a further twelve years, as well as portfolios for institutional clients. During that combined seventeen-year period, the fund delivered substantial investment out-performance, generating net returns more than twice the benchmark rate.
With more than twenty years of investment markets experience and deep analytical expertise, Nick then joined Escala, attracted by our entrepreneurial spirit and client-first approach. His earlier roles in funds management and investment banking necessitated a dynamic and flexible approach, often dealing with a multiple of variants in achieving optimal client outcomes. These experiences formed the foundation of Nick’s approach to wealth management, which he believes requires a multifaceted analysis of each client’s objectives and the development of aligned and flexible investment strategies.

After university, Amanda joined the equity research department of a stockbroking company. The attraction of undertaking financial modelling and analysis and developing strategies for institutional investors prompted her to pursue a career as an equity research analyst.

Those earlier roles in equity research and valuations required a flexible approach to tailoring services for individual clients.
