Escala Partners is proud to announce that our key philanthropic endeavour for the 2014 / 2015 Financial Year is our $10,000 per quarter support of Very Special Kids.
We have taken our lead from the generous support our client family has provided to various charitable foundations over many years, and now, just over one year into full operation, we’re excited to begin our own contribution to the social needs of the community in which we live and operate.
Very Special Kids was chosen as our charity after careful consideration of so many worthy alternatives and causes. Our choice can be best summarised by the brief description written by the charity itself of the work they perform:
“When a child has a life-threatening condition it impacts on the whole family. We ensure that all family members have access to Very Special Kids services from the time the child is diagnosed with a life-threatening condition through to recovery or bereavement which can be over many, many years. Our suite of support includes:
– Counselling and emotional support
– Sibling support
– Trained family support volunteers
– Family and networking activities
– Planned and emergency respite stays at Very Special Kids House
– End-of-life care at Very Special Kids House
– Bereavement support
We also operate Australia’s first and Victoria’s only Children’s Hospice, Very Special Kids House – an eight bed hospice, providing planned and emergency respite and end-of-life care. In addition to Very Special Kids in Malvern, regional offices operate in Brunswick, Ballarat, Rosebud, Shepparton, Torquay, Traralgon and Warrnambool”.
Escala Partners extends to Very Special Kids and all the children and families they support our very best wishes for the year ahead.
